Therapy Dogs of South Florida Inc., formerly Pet Therapy of South Florida, was founded by Mr. DeCicco in November 2002, and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Harris, a Golden Retriever, recently joined the team and has successfully graduated through his therapy dog training. Tom and his therapy dogs work full-time and currently make regular visits to the Boca Raton Community Hospital, Broward Children’s Center, and Grand Court Village in Pompano Beach.
Beginning in late February or early March 2009, Mr. DeCicco and his therapy dogs Charley, Kelly, and Harris will work extra hard at A.D. Henderson University School at FAU helping K-3 students with the Children Reading to Dogs program or P.A.L.S. (Pets Acceletating Literacy Skills). Students will benefit through higher fluency and comprehension reading levels.
