Suncoast Humane Society (Englewood, Florida 34224) is a private, non-profit, community-supported animal welfare organization.
Suncoast Humane Society was founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood. SHS cares for more than 4,700 lost, abused, and abandoned animals annually.
SHS is an open admission shelter. This means that it never refuses any animal, regardless of health, age, breed, temperament, or circumstances. If an animal is evaluated by SHS staff and determined to be adoptable, it will stay on the shelter’s Adoption Floors until they find it a home, barring severe illness or aggressive behavior.
