The San Diego Animal Support Foundation (San Diego, California 92169) is a private, volunteer dependent, non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in overburdened, underfunded local shelters and rescues.
Its mission is to actively promote the proper care and treatment of animals, as well as encourage the adoption of shelter/rescue pets with the cooperation of the local media.
Additionally, the San Diego Animal Support Foundation helps local rescue organizations pay for spay/neuter surgeries, fund imperative animal welfare projects, recruit volunteers, and maintain a small medical fund to help pets in need of emergency treatment. The foundation supports more than 28 local nonprofits. With the exception of one part-time employee, all SDASF members are volunteers.
