Hearts On Noses (Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada) is a registered non-profit society that rescues, rehabilitates and cares for unwanted, injured, orphaned, abused, neglected, and abandoned mini-pigs.
Hearts On Noses offers a peaceful setting for the pigs to live and fraternize, and maintains a stable and healthy environment for the duration of the animals’ lives. This is sanctuary.
Hearts On Noses works with families who have pigs and who need help to better understand both their pet’s medical and behavioral issues and their companion’s nutritional and intellectual needs.
It is so very difficult to find homes for these little guys, and they waste away in shelters until the sanctuaries step up, if they are able to, and bring them home. Most shelters are not informed about the needs of the pet pig. Hearts On Noses reaches out as far as it can to educate not only families with pet pigs, but shelters who bring them in, and other organizations as well, to aid with the education they need to ensure the life of the pet pigs while in their care.
The only difference between pigs and dogs is the way we treat them.
