Horse Lovers United (Salisbury, Maryland 21802), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in August 1992 by a small group of dedicated horse lovers.
Its goal is to find new, lifetime homes for displaced horses.
Since its incorporation, Horse Lovers United has directly placed more than 110 horses in new homes. It has also assisted in the placement of 400+ more horses through networking with other groups of similar interests. Adopters have gained much pleasure with their horses in a variety of new careers including trail riding, pleasure driving, riding in parades, sleigh rides, dressage, and many more.
Horse Lovers United accepts donations of all breeds of horses into its program, with particular interest in the retired or non-competitive Standardbred racehorse.
