The New European Distressed Donkey Initiative (Wadebridge, Cornwall PL27 7ND; Questrecques, Near Boulogne-sur-Mer 62830 France; Saint Maurin 47270, Lot et Garonne, France) is a non-profit making company, limited by guarantee.
Established in 1990, the New European Distressed Donkey Initiative offers care and safety to donkeys (and to a lesser degree, ponies) within Britain and Europe who are at risk from neglect, cruelty, or maltreatment.
Once a donkey has been taken into N.E.D.D.I.’s care, the organization continues to undertake the cost of that care, month after month, year after year. The bills increase, if anything, as the animals’ requirements increase. Unlike some organizations these days, N.E.D.D.I. receives no support from the Lottery fund or similar.
