Animal Place Sanctuary and Education Center (Vacaville, California 95688), founded in 1989, is a non-profit sanctuary for abused and discarded farm animals.
Rescued individuals and indigenous wildlife share 60 acres of forest, meadow, pasture, hills, and a small lake.
Animal Place Sanctuary and Education Center rescues animals who have no place else to go. Some were abused. Others were impounded by animal control due to neglect or cruelty. Some are from traditional humane societies who were unable to find permanent homes for them. ‘Downed’ animals rescued from auctions and stockyards, and animals used in research, also make up many of the animals who will live out the remaining years of their lives peacefully at Animal Place.
Animal Place is also a humane education center that works to promote cruelty-free lifestyles and veganism. It provides a variety of educational resources for both children and adults that teach kindness and compassion for all creatures.
